Biography

When I moved to Canada, I started training in psychotherapy, and the more I learned, the more I loved it. Over the years, I completed several post-secondary qualifications, earning a Master's degree in Theological Studies and training in Clinical Pastoral Education for Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy in hospital settings. In my private practice, I welcome clients with an open, non-judgmental approach, integrating faith and spirituality whenever it aligns with their personal journey.

I completed my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology in 2020. Since beginning my practice, the experiences I’ve shared with my clients and the feedback they’ve offered have affirmed that this work is where I’ve found my purpose.

Psychotherapy has been an important part of my own growth and healing. It has changed the way I see things by helping me recognize and move beyond the judgments and biases that can become barriers to understanding. It has taught me how to truly listen, understand different perspectives, and respond with greater compassion. These lessons have not only shaped the way I work with others, but have also enriched my own life and my 20-year marriage.

Living in a multicultural society and being part of a cross-cultural marriage (Turkish-Italian) have given me a great deal of experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. These experiences have helped me recognize the common ground we share as human beings and have deepened my sense of empathy and compassion. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside others as they navigate their challenges and find meaningful ways to create positive change in their lives.

Why the Yew Tree?

The yew tree is famous for its extreme longevity, sprouting new foliage from its core even after its heartwood decays or it is cut back to a stump.

Just like the yew tree, I believe true change happens from the inside out. When facing psychological challenges, we often try to alter external circumstances or the people around us. Since we cannot control external factors, real growth requires shifting our own perspective and behavior. I am here to help you tap into your inner strengths and resources so you can heal, adapt and grow.
