Why the Bayan Tree?

The banyan tree is a symbol of resilience, connection, and growth.

Banyans grow through connection. Their branches reach outward and send roots back toward the earth, creating new sources of strength and support. Over time, one tree can become a vast, interconnected living system.

I believe people are capable of remarkable resilience. We all experience storms in the form of loss, trauma, uncertainty, change, and pain. Resilience does not mean being untouched by these experiences. It means learning to bend, adapt, and continue growing.

I believe we heal through connection to ourselves, to others, and to the world around us. Throughout our lives, we can develop new roots. Even the parts of us that have struggled can become places from which something new and meaningful can grow.

Most of all, I believe healing can extend beyond ourselves. As we grow, we have the opportunity to create safety, connection, and nourishment for others.

We may not choose the storms we face, but we can choose how we grow through them.
